She almost died. She was unconscious for days.

Yes, and I will carry those sins for as long as I exist. She was given a second chance here, but it is fragile and there are many dangers.

This place brought her back from death. I have little reason to believe it couldn't do so again.

If it did, it would go against the order this world. I have rolled the dice many times, but the trick to gambling is to rig it from the start.

Things that are broken can never be truly restored. They can be regenerated, but they will be something new. My magic could bring her back, if I had my full strength, but she would be would not be the same Jessica as the one who died. So I can never abide anybody, even a god, treating my beloved's life as a trifling thing.
